Community Standards
Last updated: September 18, 2026
These Community Standards describe how people are expected to behave as MiTRYBE grows from a single-player preference map into features that may include friend overlaps, limited social context, and eventual matching. Weathertop Studios builds MiTRYBE so alignment is dimensional and contextual. Alignment is not sameness. Two people can disagree about pizza crust and still be the right collaborators. Positive associations lead. Disagreement can be inspectable without becoming the homepage. The product thesis remains Don't guess. Ask.—including how we treat other humans.

1. Purpose
Community Standards exist to keep MiTRYBE usable for people who want honest taste overlap without harassment, hate, exploitation, or performative pile-ons. Early MiTRYBE may have limited or no live social graph. These standards still apply to usernames, contact messages, future comments or overlap views, and any Weathertop Studios-operated MiTRYBE spaces where people can affect one another.
We publish them before full matching launches so expectations are clear: dimensional alignment is the design goal; cruelty is not a feature; and Weathertop Studios will restrict accounts that treat other users as targets.
2. Scope
These standards apply to anyone using MiTRYBE authenticated features, local profiles that later connect to social surfaces, and communications with Weathertop Studios about other users. They apply on mitrybe.com and related environments Weathertop Studios operates for MiTRYBE. They do not rewrite the moderation policies of third-party platforms where you might discuss MiTRYBE, though we may still act on MiTRYBE accounts when off-platform conduct is reported with enough evidence and poses risk to users here.
Seed recommendations about Florida places are not "community posts" by other users; venue conduct is governed by those venues. See the Recommendations Policy.
3. Definitions
"Alignment" means overlap on dimensions relevant to a decision or context—not identical answers on every question. "Sameness" means demanding total agreement as a condition of respect or collaboration."Harassment" means repeated or severe unwanted contact, insults, threats, or coordinated attacks directed at a person. "Hate" means attacks or demeaning content targeting people based on protected or sensitive characteristics such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or similar categories recognized in applicable law and these standards. "Exploitation" includes sexual exploitation, attempts to solicit minors, scams, and coercive data harvesting of other users.
4. Core principle: alignment ≠ sameness
MiTRYBE is not a purity test. Matching—when it arrives—should help people find overlap where it matters for the decision at hand. You can share a love of late Florida dinners and diverge on dessert. You can collaborate without cloning each other's maps. Product design will prefer leading with positive associations. Disagreement may be available to inspect later; it should not be the headline that trains people to fight.
In practice, that means: do not bully someone for a dimension you dislike; do not demand they change answers to keep your approval; do not weaponize overlap views to shame. Ask better questions of each other offline if you need depth. Don't guess malice from a single taste lean without context.
5. Required conduct
While using MiTRYBE and related Weathertop Studios channels, you agree to:
- Treat other people with basic respect even when taste maps diverge.
- Use usernames and display names that do not impersonate or abuse, as described in the Accounts Policy.
- Keep private what others have not chosen to share; do not screenshot and spread limited overlap information to harass.
- Report genuine safety issues through official contact paths rather than engaging in vigilante pile-ons inside the product.
- Comply with law, including rules against threats, stalking, fraud, and child sexual exploitation material.
6. Prohibited conduct
The following are not allowed:
- Harassment, threats, stalking, or intimidation of other users.
- Hate speech and demeaning attacks on protected characteristics.
- Sexual content involving minors, grooming, or any sexual exploitation.
- Non-consensual sharing of intimate images or personal identifying information meant to harm (doxxing).
- Scams, phishing, credential theft attempts, or malware distribution.
- Impersonation of Weathertop Studios, MiTRYBE staff, or other people.
- Abusive scraping, spam, or bulk account creation to manipulate social or unlock systems.
- Using future matching features to facilitate real-world harm, illegal trade, or predatory contact.
Weathertop Studios may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts for violations even if a specific bullet above is imperfectly matched, when the spirit of these standards is clearly broken.
7. Positive associations lead
Product and community culture should emphasize what people share that is useful and energizing. That does not mean fake positivity or forced agreement. It means we will not design MiTRYBE's primary social surfaces as disagreement leaderboards. If inspectable differences appear later, they exist for clarity among consenting users—not for public mockery.
Users who repeatedly attempt to turn overlap tools into conflict engines may lose access to social features while retaining, where appropriate, single-player map tools—or may lose the account entirely depending on severity.
8. Roles and responsibilities
You are responsible for your words, usernames, and how you use any social or contact features. Weathertop Studios is responsible for publishing these standards, providing reporting paths, and applying enforcement with commercially reasonable effort given the size of an early product team. We are not a court. We are not obligated to take a specific action on every report, but we take safety reports seriously.
Parents and guardians who permit teens to use MiTRYBE (where allowed by the Accounts Policy) should understand that early social features may be limited and that supervision remains their responsibility offline.
9. Reporting procedures
Report harassment, hate, exploitation, impersonation, or other violations through /contact or support@mitrybe.com. Include usernames, timestamps, screenshots where lawful to capture, and a short description of what happened. Do not send illegal content as "evidence" attachments when that would itself violate law; describe it and follow guidance from our reply.
For account security incidents (takeover, credential stuffing), see the Security Policy and notify us promptly. For privacy requests, use privacy@mitrybe.com.
False reports intended to silence someone without basis may themselves violate these standards. Good-faith mistakes are different from weaponized reporting.
10. Enforcement procedures
When Weathertop Studios becomes aware of a possible violation, we may investigate using account logs, Firebase Authentication records, Firestore profile metadata, and materials you submit. We may ask clarifying questions. We may act temporarily first (feature freeze, session revoke) when risk is urgent.
Outcomes can include a warning, required display-name change, temporary suspension, permanent termination, limitation of social features, or referral to law enforcement when required or appropriate. We may communicate outcomes to reporters at a high level without sharing another user's private data.
Appeals may be sent to support with new context. Appeals are reviewed when capacity allows. Reinstatement is discretionary. Repeat violations weigh heavily against reinstatement.
11. Florida-first community context
MiTRYBE's first humans are expected across Florida, not one neighborhood. Statewide diversity of pace, culture, and foodways is a feature of the field. Do not harass users for regional identity, accent, language mix, or hometown pride. Do not treat Miami, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Orlando, Tampa Bay, or the Panhandle as punchlines that excuse cruelty. Dimensional taste includes place; place is not a slur.
12. Limitations
Weathertop Studios cannot monitor every interaction in real time, especially before dedicated moderation tooling exists. These standards set expectations and enforcement rights; they are not a promise of perfect safety. Users should practice ordinary caution when meeting anyone from an online service in person. MiTRYBE is not a dating product positioning; if people choose to meet, they do so at their own risk and outside Weathertop Studios' control.
We may not be able to retrieve deleted local-only content stored solely in another person's browser under keys such as mitrybe-profile-v2. Cloud-side enforcement focuses on authenticated systems we operate.
13. Relationship to law and other policies
These standards supplement the Terms of Use. Where law requires stricter handling (for example, child safety), law controls. Where the Accounts Policy describes suspension mechanics, those mechanics apply. Where Privacy Policy limits what we can disclose about an investigation, those limits apply even if a reporter wants more detail.
14. Changes and contact
Weathertop Studios may update Community Standards as social features launch and as we learn from the Florida field. The "Last updated" date will change with revisions. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If you cannot accept the standards, do not use social features and request account closure if needed.
