Recommendations Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

This Recommendations Policy explains how MiTRYBE suggests people-places- and-products style ideas today, what those suggestions are not, and where your judgment must take over. Weathertop Studios builds MiTRYBE on the thesis Don't guess. Ask. Recommendations should follow from answers you gave, not from a surveillance guess about who you are. Early Florida recommendations are curated seed archetypes with because-clauses—not a live venue database and not a guarantee.

This policy works alongside the Preference Map Policy, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use. Product philosophy lives on Why we're different. Questions go to Contact Us.

1. Purpose

Recommendations exist to make the preference map useful in the real world. After you answer enough questions, MiTRYBE may surface a small set of Florida-oriented suggestions and explain why each one appeared. The goal is honesty: a specific because-clause tied to your map beats a generic "people like you also liked" smear. The goal is not to replace trip planning, restaurant research, medical dietary advice, or your assessment of whether a place is safe, open, accessible, or right for the people you are with.

Weathertop Studios publishes this policy so early users understand the experimental field. Seed content is how we ship a complete single-player experience before a statewide live inventory exists. Pretending otherwise would violate the same thesis we apply to taste: do not invent confidence.

2. Scope

This policy covers recommendation surfaces inside MiTRYBE on mitrybe.com and related Weathertop Studios environments, including end-of-run suggestion cards, dashboard recommendation modules, and because-clause explanations. It covers seed Florida archetypes used in early product versions and any similarly curated lists Weathertop Studios may rotate while the live catalog remains limited.

It does not cover third-party websites, maps, reservation platforms, or delivery apps you open after leaving MiTRYBE. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. It does not cover future live matching of people to people, which will ship under Community Standards and additional notices when ready. It does not cover advertising products that do not yet exist.

3. Definitions

"Seed recommendation" or "seed archetype" means a curated suggestion representing a type of Florida place, experience, or product pattern, selected from a limited editorial set rather than queried from a continuously updated venue database. "Because-clause" means the short explanation tying a suggestion to one or more of your answers or dimensions. "Live venue database" means a continuously refreshed inventory of real businesses with hours, menus, and availability—something early MiTRYBE does not claim to be."You" means the person viewing recommendations. "We" means Weathertop Studios operating MiTRYBE.

4. How early recommendations work

When your preference map crosses unlock thresholds, MiTRYBE may select a handful of seed archetypes that fit dimensions you answered. Selection logic may weigh food tradeoffs, pace, spectacle versus structure, and other Florida-local life signals encoded in the question bank. The product then shows because-clauses so you can see the link between map and suggestion.

Because the set is seeded, two users with similar maps may see overlapping suggestions. That is expected in an early field. It does not mean MiTRYBE secretly ranks a statewide Yelp clone. It means Weathertop Studios chose quality of explanation over fake breadth. As the product matures, the catalog may grow, rotate, or connect to richer data sources. Until we say a live database exists, assume seed archetypes.

Recommendations may reference real Florida patterns—late dinners, Cuban coffee culture, humidity, hurricane-season logistics, beaches versus springs, Miami versus Gainesville versus Panhandle pace—without turning into a tourism brochure. Mentions of regional texture are editorial and product design, not proof of real-time inventory or location tracking.

5. Seed Florida recommendations disclaimer

Early Florida recommendations are seed archetypes with because-clauses—not a live venue database and not a guarantee. Names, vibes, and example places used in seed content may be illustrative, composite, or curated snapshots that can become outdated. Hours change. Kitchens change. Ownership changes. Storms close roads. A suggestion that fit last month may not fit tonight.

Always use your own judgment for safety, accessibility, and dietary needs. MiTRYBE does not verify allergen protocols, kitchen cross-contact, alcohol service practices, security conditions, parking risk, flood zones, or ADA details for every archetype. If you have allergies, mobility requirements, medical dietary constraints, or travel with children or vulnerable companions, research the actual venue or activity through primary sources before you go. When in doubt, call ahead or choose a known-safe option.

Seed recommendations are not endorsements of every business that might resemble an archetype. They are not legal, medical, or financial advice. They are not a promise of availability, price, wait time, or quality on any given night. Weathertop Studios is not responsible for your experience at third-party locations you choose to visit after seeing a suggestion inside MiTRYBE.

6. Relationship to the preference map

Recommendations depend on answered dimensions. Skips do not invent preferences. If your map is thin, unlocks stay greyed and suggestions may be limited or absent. If you reset your map, recommendations can change or disappear until you rebuild signal. That coupling is intentional: we would rather show fewer suggestions than guess.

Because-clauses are generated from product logic tied to your answers. They should be specific enough to inspect. If a because-clause feels wrong, re-answer the feeding questions or ignore the card. Do not treat a witty line as deeper truth than your own lived taste. See the Preference Map Policy for reset procedures and ownership.

7. What we do not claim

  • We do not claim complete coverage of Florida restaurants, attractions, or shops.
  • We do not claim real-time open/closed status, menu accuracy, or pricing.
  • We do not claim that a recommendation is the objectively best choice for you or for anyone else.
  • We do not claim that seed content was personalized using surveillance of your email, camera roll, or off-site browsing.
  • We do not claim that recommendations are a substitute for local knowledge, official emergency guidance, or professional advice.

If marketing copy on other pages ever sounds broader than this policy, this Recommendations Policy controls for how suggestion features work in the early product. Program Policies short form may summarize; this page is the long-form explanation for Learn More.

8. Third-party links and outbound journeys

Tapping a recommendation may send you to maps, websites, or search results operated by others. Weathertop Studios does not control those destinations. Their cookies, tracking, booking fees, and data practices are theirs. Review their policies. MiTRYBE's Cookies & Local Storage policy covers storage on our origin, not on every site you visit next.

Affiliate or partnership arrangements, if any are introduced later, will be disclosed in a manner appropriate to the feature. Until disclosed, do not assume every outbound link generates revenue for Weathertop Studios. Early seed cards exist to validate thesis and question quality.

9. Safety, diet, accessibility, and companions

You are responsible for evaluating whether a suggested experience fits your health needs, mobility needs, budget, transportation, and group. Florida heat, storms, wildlife, water conditions, and nightlife contexts vary widely. A fun archetype is not a risk assessment. If a because-clause mentions adventure or late-night energy, that is taste language—not a safety certification.

Dietary language in questions or seed copy is preference signal, not a clinical label. "Lighter," "indulgent," "seafood-forward," or similar phrases do not guarantee allergen-free preparation. Ask the venue. Bring your own protocols.

10. Weathertop Studios responsibilities

Weathertop Studios will label early recommendations in product and policy language consistent with seed archetypes when that is what they are. We will attach because-clauses that aim to be inspectable. We will update or retire seed items that become misleading when we learn they are. We will not pretend a live statewide database exists before it does.

We may A/B test explanation copy, card order, or archetype sets. We may remove suggestions that conflict with Community Standards or legal risk. We may expand from Florida-first seeds to other arenas later; when we do, geographic scope will be described in product UI and policy updates.

11. Your responsibilities

Use recommendations as prompts, not orders. Verify details before you spend money or travel. Do not harass venues or staff because a seed card disappointed you—give feedback to MiTRYBE through /contact instead. Do not scrape recommendation endpoints at abusive volumes. Do not misrepresent MiTRYBE suggestions as official Weathertop Studios events or partnerships unless we say they are.

12. Limitations of liability (plain language)

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Weathertop Studios is not liable for injuries, allergic reactions, property damage, financial loss, or dissatisfaction arising from your decision to visit, purchase from, or rely on third-party places or products after seeing a MiTRYBE recommendation. Seed content is provided as-is for an early experimental product. Additional legal terms appear in the Terms of Use.

13. Future live catalogs and matching

When MiTRYBE connects to richer inventories or people-matching, we will update this policy and related notices. Live data will still require your judgment. Matching will emphasize dimensional alignment for a decision, not sameness across every taste axis. Until those features launch, recommendation surfaces remain single-player aids grounded in seed Florida content and your map.

14. Changes and contact

Weathertop Studios may revise this Recommendations Policy as the catalog and product evolve. The "Last updated" date will change when we post updates. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If you disagree with how suggestions work, you can ignore recommendation modules, reset your map, or stop using MiTRYBE.
